.Teacher's Talk Podcast

Summary

This pod cast looks at the negative and positive effects of group work which affects many students at the teacher training department. Students are placed in groups for different assignments but sometimes they are not pleased with the idea of who they are working with and some discomfort is placed. This then adds stress on the performance of the overall group. An interview was conducted amongst students as they expressed their views.

Podcasts and Classroom Instructions

Podcasts can be used for classroom instruction as a support by allowing teachers to deliver precise verbal instructions and capture lessons for archival purposes or future listening.  It gives students the opportunity to listen to instruction independently, without distraction

Unlike the traditional pedagogic strategies, podcasting gives way to new strategies like guest lectures, interviews, video demonstrations, etc. It encourages students to improve their listening skills and enhances learning by targeting each child’s interest.

Portfolio Reflection

The piece produced was a podcast discussing the negative and positive effects of group work and the challenges faced by Teacher Training students.

The discussion was quite interesting and enjoyable, listening to the views of other expanding my knowledge on the effects of group work. The editing process was a bit challenging, and being able to upload the podcast on the blog page. After a few adjustments the podcast was uploaded.

This piece could be improved by stating different scenarios supporting the topic in discussion.
