Digital Storytelling

We looked at how videos can be used to improve classroom instructions. Using videos as a teaching tool can be beneficial to both teachers and students. It creates greater interest and transforms classroom instructions, thus improving teachers practice. Video captures the attention of the learners and increases their motivation.

Below is a video on Teenage Parenting

Reflection

This video was created for a Social Studies class based on the topic teenage parenting. It shows the cause and negative effects of having sex. Students will realise importance of having protected sex or not having at all and the challenges faced when being a teenage parent. It is very important to educate our students of the seriousness of unprotected sex and the impact it will have on their lives.

When creating this video, I stumbled on some challenges especially finding a suitable song to place in the video and uploading it to the video. The process of learning to create a video was short, it is my recommendation that there is more practice and demonstration to better understand this strategy and improve the quality of video making.
